Columbus Day Weekend 2006 our staff camped at Russell Pond Campground in the White Mountains. It didn't seem like the foliage this year was as good as several previous years, but even so, there was beauty to behold everywhere and the pond was no exception.

Several people still had kayaks out, the weather was amazingly nice, and only Friday evening was cooler than we care to remember! |

Sunday we ran into nearby Lincoln to see what our lenses might find. We were not disappointed. |
 |
Everywhere nature was about us. Chipmunks ran through our campsite, we spotted a few ducks and geese and at night we could hear two species of owl hooting into the darkness. |
 |
A few folks even took a dip in the pond, but we only saw the jump rope hang silently, waiting for next spring.
